ALUCOBOND® PLUS Case Study – West Connex M4 East Project

In February 2016, the NSW Minister for planning granted approval to widen and extend the iconic M4 Motorway in Western Sydney.

Due for completion in 2019, the 6.5km project includes 5.5km of tunnel with over 8,000m2 of external cladding to the tunnel entry and exits required.

With a range of cladding options available, HVG Facades engaged early in the design phase with key stakeholders, providing extensive technical support.

The trusted ALUCOBOND® PLUS was ultimately selected. With its proven performance in similar applications worldwide, extensive colour options available and backed by local support – key personnel on the project were instilled with confidence in the world’s most trusted aluminium cladding option.

Internal teams at HVG Facades worked diligently with the project personnel, working closely with the nominated subcontractor on the project.  Great working relationships with the architect, builder and installer enabled a smooth tender process.

The size and scope of this cladding project required in depth technical support, extensive test data and international evidence of long term product performance. HVG Facades were supported by their long term ALUCOBOND® PLUS supply partner, 3A Composites out of Germany.

HVG Facades has and continues to be involved in large infrastructure projects across the country. The wide range of external cladding options  available enables design flexibility, product compliance and proven long term performance.
